plank&board designs and builds substantial outdoor furniture. The style leans toward modernism with clean simplistic lines. While the furniture is unique looking, seating comfort is the primary focus. The pieces available from plank&board include: outdoor sectional couches, chairs, benches, tables, storage trunks and children's furniture.

Ben Robinson, a web designer and furniture craftsman in Atlanta, Georgia, designs and builds all of the outdoor patio furniture. When he and his wife were looking for an outdoor sectional couch for their patio, they couldn't find exactly what they wanted. As a result, plank&board was born. After moving to a house in Kirkwood, about 5 miles east of downtown Atlanta, Ben built a small woodshed and outdoor workbench where he could build furniture.

When not making furniture or websites, you might find Ben on a soccer field or in his garden. And, if he's not elbow deep in sawdust, he'll answer the phone if you want to chat about having some furniture made.

Although he's still building up his arsenal, he's especially excited about the tools he uses. It's a collection of wood cutters and sanders from Bosch, Milwaukee, Dewalt and Hitachi, along with a few handtools.
